A Multidisciplinary Space

Located in Lacolle in the former barn of Martin's ancestral home, Studio Bapaume was founded in 2017, after 6 months of work. The work respected the unique character of the house, which dates back to 1873; the wood was reclaimed, cleaned and carefully installed in the studio, giving it a clear, warm sound.

Martin's family tree revealed that the first Levac to set foot in Quebec (then New France) was Martin Levac dit Bapaume, named after his village in Pas de Calais, northern France. The name also means “beat your palms” in Old French, so rhythm runs in the Levac family!
